Tignes/Val d’Isere, France – Europe’s most friendly snowboarding resort
Val d’Isere features plenty for beginners and professionals, skiers and non-skiers alike of other activity selections; cleared walks, shops and a sports centre, 300km of pistes. The resort shares its ski domain with Tignes and together they make the E’space Killy which can be accessed by using a common pass. Tignes is one of Europe’s most snowboard friendly resorts and boasts the best half pipe in the Alps, excellent snow parks and some fantastic off-piste opportunities. Its lively slopes cater wonderfully to its even livelier nightlife, making the transition between the two simple. Val d’Isere also boasts some of the best luxury ski chalets.
St Anton, Austria – Boasts some of the greatest snowboarding terrain
St Anton is an all inclusive resort, catering for skiers and boarders of all abilities. Newbies find their excitement on the less-demanding slopes, or they can visit the neighbouring resort of Lech, just a bus ride away and accessible with the same lift pass. St Anton is also well known for having some of the greatest snowboarding terrain in Austria, together with a vast selection of natural obstacles, steep powder fields and drop-offs providing exciting free-riding. A serious free-riders resort you will be amazed at how quickly this place gets ridden out. St Anton is the largest ski resort in the Arlberg area and is regarded as one of Europe’s best ski areas with some fantastic catered ski chalets. It offers a huge network of cable cars and lifts all over its substantial assorted terrain with challenging on and off-piste boarding surrounded by outstanding beauty.
Jackson Hole, USA – For boarders looking for a challenge
Spread over a massive 2,500 acres of terrain Jackson Hole is surrounded by a lot of the most impressive scenery it is a great location for a ski holiday in America. It provides an exceptional experience on and off the slopes and is a genuine, old-fashioned, Western town complete with elevated wooden boardwalks and genuine cowboy saloons. Amazing snowfall make it a great location for pros as it provides difficult slopes, deep snow and narrow chutes, it’s not necessarily suitable for beginners. In addition there is also the Snow King area in town that features a lot of amazingly steep slopes and is available for evening snowboarding.
